The day I met a sports icon wearing a t-shirt, cargo shorts and sports jacket for men

Sportswear for Men

I was 6 years old when my dad bought a packet of chips for me, and I found a cricket card in it. From that moment on, I developed a keen interest in the game and started being attracted to sports. Though I was a star player of my college cricket team and a model student, I had never ever hoped that I would meet my favorite sports icon face to face while I was playing cricket on a beach wearing a causal t-shirt, cargo shorts and my favorite sports jacket for men. 

It was a hot summer day, and our exams were over. I and a bunch of my friends decided to have a friendly match with students from a nearby college, and we were playing at a beach near my home. As expected the openers of my team got out pretty quickly, and I was left with the responsibility of chasing a massive score in limited overs.

You have no idea how much pressure I felt, but I decided to score as many runs as possible without bothering about losing my wicket. At around 4, we were chasing the score, and my team had lost 6 wickets. I still had to chase 45 runs target in just 30 balls. We decided to take a break, and my friend Anil noticed that a bunch of people wearing polo sport shirts, sports jackets for men and even some in men's sports vests were watching us.

My heart skipped a beat when I realized that one of the people wearing sportswear t-shirts was a leading Indian cricket player and my sports idol. He was watching me with keen eyes and my face reddened in a jiffy. As many of my friends hadn’t noticed who was watching us, I gave them the details, and they all goggled like me. 

We decided to end the break and plucked up the courage to go introduce ourselves to them. I was deliriously happy when my sports icon showed enthusiasm and asked about us. As I didn’t want to stutter, I kept my mouth shut while my friends did all the talking. I was just gazing into their faces when I realized that one of the people wearing mens muscle tank tops was another young player of the Indian cricket team.

My sports icon asked me where I learned to play and it was then I started talking to him. After talking non-stop for god knows how many minutes, my sports icon encouraged us to resume the game and wished me luck. He stayed there and watched as I, filled with a lot of enthusiasm and unbound happiness, chased the target with 3 balls remaining and helped my team win the match. 

It was then that my sports icon came to me and appreciated my performance. I decided to ask for a selfie with him, and he readily agreed. We ended that lucky evening with scores of selfies that now grace my bedroom walls as posters. It was honestly the best day of my life.
